Whether you have been here before or not.. WELCOME! I'm not much of a photographer but I enjoy taking photos that [to me] seem unusual or interesting. Sometimes I think they are funny, sometimes strange and sometimes R rated. In any case you are encouraged to put comments in the visitors book. I hope I can make you smile or even giggle a bit.

Welcome to rain in Rockhampton

The first few days in Rockhampton did NOT look good - it rained, no, it poured and none of us had a boat.

Plenty of bull in this pub

Pubs are known for lots of BULL but the Great Western pub takes it a step further. They have a bull ring, bulls and cowboys INSIDE the pub. Visit on the right days - and you can try your luck at bull riding.

The weather in QLD is ideal for growing things

Thats NOT a close up photo - he's as big as my hand, and his home is a few feet from the entrance to the Tourist Information building.

Capricorn etc

IT SAYS ....
Because of the tilt of 20 degrees 27 minutes 30 seconds of the earth's axis of rotation to its orbital path, the Tropic of Capricorn is the southernmost latitude at which the sun reaches the zenith. This happens only once each year on the summer solstice about the 22nd of December. Capricorn was in Roman mythology the sea goat into which pan was changed to escape from the terrible giant typhon - it is also the name given to the constellation resembling it. When the December solstice was first observed the sun was situated in this constellation, hence this tropic was named Capricorn.

I knew that!

A big sundial

I had to sit and watch this sundial outside the tourist info office for 15 minutes to see if it was accurate - it wasn't. The Sun was two minutes faster than MY WATCH.

Hello Cocky

The bird was happy to keep an eye out for the other bushrangers.

Some people simply cannot resist ICE CREAM shops.

Strange cattle

The cattle in QLD are really odd! They are NOTHING LIKE OURS in NSW. In fact they look more like ..  ..  ..  ?

The dentists have a funny sense of humour

The dentists up here are a little INSENSITIVE.
This was seen in the waiting room window.

This croc was playing on the road when a road train ran over it.

The smile is a worry.

It is lunch time, and he's looking at you.

Did I frighten you.... Ha Ha

Ha Ha Ha Ha - you tourists are funny!
