Whether you have been here before or not.. WELCOME! I'm
not much of a photographer but I enjoy taking photos that [to me] seem unusual or interesting. Sometimes I think they are funny, sometimes strange and sometimes R rated. In any case you are encouraged to put comments in the visitors book. I hope I can make you smile or even giggle a bit.
What is it?
Hint: the tourists don't seem to be the slightest bit interested, that includes me. The first person to guess correctly will get nothing!
Walking along the main street of Cardwell - there are shops all the way along one side and this great view on the other side. The Islands you can see are parts of the Fiji group.
The inquisitive tourist who are silly enough to look UP.... get a shock. And so do those who go into the garage for fuel! Check the prices.

Why did I put this picture here. If you know, call me and tell me.
I remember when bananas tasted like bananas.
These days they make them ripen quickly by putting them in plastic bags while they are still on the tree, then store them in gas filled rooms. If any of them still taste like bananas they export them to Africa and we get the leaves.
You might expect to see this van driving around some Sydney suburbs. In fact, if you have been dealing in drugs you might see it parked outside your house. I didn't expect to see it parked in a Cairns church car park several days in a row. Being a regular visitor it came to my notice rather quickly.

Kuranda, high on the Atherton Tablelands, reminded me of a place on the Gold Coast where everybody smoked Marijuana (was it Nimbin?). Here at Kuranda we found lots of little markets and stalls where you buy necklaces, trinkets and not a single adult toy shop or any marijuana.
When we first walked past this little fella, he was blowing like mad and not sounding very good. There weren't any tips on his shirt either. We both felt obliged to put a couple of dollars onto his shirt that was spread out in front of him.
One hour later we walked past again and he had something like $20 or $30 dollars on his shirt!!! Shit - I never got paid that much. I took back the tips we had left earlier.
Connie wanted to spend the four dollars we had stolen from the little didgeridoo player and she checked out the trays of sea shells.

This little guy was so exhausted that he accidentally dropped the didgeridoo while we were watching. I had to help him get it back upright where he could blow it again. It weighed more than he did, and it was taller.
At one stage as we were driving towards Mount Garnet, I noticed the GPS altitude was well over 1000 meters. I stopped to take this pic and promptly got an ache in both ears.
This was not expected. We came over a crest and in the distance we saw a number of helicopters lying on their side in the fields? With their engines still running!
