Whether you have been here before or not.. WELCOME! I enjoy taking photos that [to me] seem unusual or interesting. Sometimes I think they are funny, sometimes strange and sometimes R rated. In any case you are encouraged to put comments in the visitors book. I hope I can make you smile or even giggle a bit.

The town of Ilfracombe in Queensland is famous for the Magic Mile of Mothballed Machinery - as well as the hot spas, which are not hot springs - they are heated with diesel!
Waiting
for a train at Ilfracombe? .. better have some food and water.
Don't try to top up your Opal Card at Ilfracombe ....
"eh? what? wanna buy opals?"
(not true, there wasn't anybody at the ticket office)

THIS is how I like it.
I guess you've seen it before but I can't compare St Marys and Mount Isa .... :-)
This was just a few kilometers before Mount Isa. There is about 50 kilometers of scenery like this.
If you have ever been to Mount Isa you'll recognise this straight away. We'll stop here for an extra day then press on for W.A. on Friday.
Last time we were here in Mount Isa we had exactly the same camp site beside this river - only last time we had to wait for two weeks for a new set of alloy wheels to arrive from Melbourne (the drive up the Birdsville track was too much for them).
Wednesday 27th July - bloody windy mate!

Is
that a happy little camper cooking his lunch?
No.. it is either a controlled burn off, or a genuine bush fire. Fortunately we look as though we'll miss it by a kilometer or two.
I
was feeling quite happy until THE BLOODY ROAD CURVED LEFT TOWARDS THE FIRE.
Thats
close enough. The fire hadn't jumped the road and so we simply drove alongside
it for a kilometer or so.
