Whether you have been here before or not.. WELCOME! I enjoy taking photos that [to me] seem unusual or interesting. Sometimes I think they are funny, sometimes strange and sometimes R rated. In any case you are encouraged to put comments in the visitors book. I hope I can make you smile or even giggle a bit.

FIRST STOP ...
The ice creamery!
The first few days in Broome were very quite exceptionally comfortably bloody hot .. 36 degrees
The last time we were in Broome we watched "The Aviator" at this open air picture garden.
If you look carefully you can see the big white screen behind the lattice work.
This time we will just turn up and watch whatever happens to be showing on Saturday night.

I couldn't control myself, I bought them all.
Can you imagine this in George St Sydney? I can't.
The famous Cable Beach during an invasion by "Southerners". I wanted to wander along to the nudist area but it was too hot - maybe tomorrow.
Not much grass.
Not much opportunity to put up radio antennas either.
Plenty of red dust.

The front of the ultra modern "Sun Pictures". I can't imagine what it would have been like to have a picture garden with talking movies - 100 years ago!
The cinema hasn't changed a bit - but the bad language used today would have filled the old Broome lockup.
Have you seen "Bad Moms"? Go see it!
The manager opened up the cinema and turned on the lights so we could have our photo taken inside. He even asked two friends to stand in front of the candy bar to make it look more realistic.
Then the crowd turned up. Six of them.
This what the pearling luggers look like from underneath.
Being a pearl diver in my younger days I recognised this one as soon as I saw the hull from underneath.

Yes... I sailed on this one many times. In fact it was on this very lugger that the story of "Jaws" was invented.
I think?
You are supposed to read this.
Yep! That's Broome. A history of pearling and ... not a lot else.
